SE River Road Detour Oct 27-Mid April

SW River Road closure approved by Washington County’s Board of County Commissioners

Closure Begins:         October 27, 2025

Closure Ends:             April 25, 2026

A delay of 2-weeks has resulted in the closure to begin October 27, 2025, with re-opening of the road to occur no later than April 25, 2026.

For construction updates, please visit www.pacific-community.com/riverroad.

As a reminder, during the scheduled closure, SW River Road will be open to local traffic and emergency services only. The temporary traffic control plan will detour general traffic onto other arterial roads: SW Farmington Road, SW Hillsboro Highway (219), and SW Minter Bridge Road, as shown on the attached detour plan.

We are making critical infrastructure updates in the area. Construction crews will be installing a new sanitary sewer line on SW River Road, just south of SE Davis Road, as well as other utility and street improvements. This work is being done to support the City of Hillsboro’s efforts to expand housing in the area and is permitted under Hillsboro Public Infrastructure Permit number PIP-0002-25 and Washington County Road Closure Permit number TRC25028.

In order to construct the 30-ft deep sanitary sewer line in River Road, the development team has secured a road closure permit. The Board of County Commissioners approved this closure on September 23, 2025, after the development team conducted a Community Engagement meeting on September 16, 2025. SW River Road will be fully closed in both directions for roughly 180 days beginning on October 27, 2025. The closure will apply to bicycles and pedestrians as well as motor vehicles. The road is expected to reopen in April of 2026.
