Hilhi's Duy-Anthony Huynh Selected as Gates Scholar

Congratulations are in order for Hilhi senior Duy-Anthony Huynh! He was selected as one of 750 students nationwide from a pool of more than 48,000 to be a 2025 Gates Scholar. Gates Scholarships pay the full cost of attendance (less other financial aid) for students' undergraduate education.

One of Hilhi's valedictorians, Duy-Anthony shared the following additional information about himself: "I'm the Senior Class President at Hillsboro High School, Key Club Editor, and Event Coordinator for the Asian Pacific Cultural Club. I'm also an active member of the HOSA and Interact Clubs. Winning the Gates Scholarship has been life-changing, giving me the opportunity to pursue my dream of attending college in California, something I never thought possible due to financial barriers. I'm now deciding between the University of Portland and UC Irvine for nursing. In the future, I plan to become a dermatology or aesthetics nurse, combining my passion for healthcare and helping others feel confident."

Way to go and best wishes in college, Duy-Anthony! You make us Proud to be HSD!
